“I am reminded, weirdly, of Judy Chicago’s Dinner Party. After reading one of her autobiographical books this year I’ve felt differently attuned to how women shape institutions and how institutions shape women. What your training program provided – perhaps, unintentionally –included not only a useful primer on this field of “creative aging” but also a plethora of models for survival. You made a point of introducing us to women who are the change they/we want to see.

It has boosted my art-making, providing consistent class time and instruction by some truly exceptional teachers. My progress is exciting and propels me forward to higher goals.  And as Gordon (my favorite instructor) said at the beginning of yesterday's workshop, "Clear your mind...forget your troubles...we're here to relax and enjoy…" That's another important benefit to the creative process as well.  For me creativity is what makes me feel most alive, what brings the most joy and the Creative Center has made a substantial contribution enhancing all of the above, for which I am most grateful.

What a gift your Artist-In-Residence is, glowing and positive, sensitive and encouraging.  I was told radiation was a "snap" -a "walk in the park" compared to Chemo and Surgery...I didn't find this true...maybe the machines intimidated me -but before I knew it ...I was relaxing...joking...laughing AND making cool jewelry. "
