"My photographic background is in shooting graffiti and street, but when I wasn't able to walk for miles around downtown Manhattan with my camera I was challenged to find a way to see my hometown in a more interesting way. I chose to work with a pinhole camera because I was looking to create timeless images that weren't totally representational. 'Reality is highly overrated,' or can be when you're dealing with serious health issues. I started to see the world around me as a more calm and serene environment, which helped me to create that space within myself."
